Dandelion Support Network
TAREN POINT, SYDNEY, NSW
When a women leaves a family violence situation, she will often leave with nothing.
After finding accommodation, her case worker will then find essential items for her and the children.
In Sydney, they will call Dandelion Support Network, a grassroots not-for-profit that supports the children of families in need.
They will give Dandelion a list of what the woman urgently needs for her children.
Dandelion provides prams, costs, car seats, other essential items and clothing for babies through to children aged 16. Staff and volunteers will carefully prepare each item, knowing that without this support, these families would go without. Packaged items are usually ready for pick up within hours.
In 2022, Dandelion helped 2,143 families from across Greater Sydney, Illawarra and some regional areas of NSW. They work with 200 hospitals and community service agencies.
Volunteering at Dandelion means you are helping women and children in their greatest time of need!
